About the Event
On Saturday 8th February 2020 join VW Singers in a rehearsal and performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams' iconic The Lark Ascending in a new arrangement for voices and solo violin by Paul Drayton, along with the stunning new work Ancient Prairie by Ēriks Ešenvalds and, if time allows, extracts from Vaughan Williams' Folk Songs of the Four Seasons newly arranged for SATB choir and piano by John Whittaker.

The day runs from 10:30am to 3:30pm, including an open performance of the music at 3:00pm. Registration is from 10:00. Participation is open to all singers but pre-booking is essential. Non-participants may observe any part of the event at a cost of £5.00, including the complete performance at 3:00pm
The participation fee includes refreshments, lunch and hire of music.
The day will be led by VW Singers' musical director Ian Assersohn. He will be joined by brilliant young violinist Emma Purslow, who will play the solo parts in The Lark Ascending and Ancient Prairie, and by Jan Assersohn who will accompany the rehearsal.
